Welcome Mark Pollock to Avaya ENGAGE 2023!
Explorer. Athlete. Motivational Speaker. Mark Pollock’s story is about building resilience and being part of a team. Unbroken by blindness in 1998, Mark became an adventure athlete competing in ultra-endurance races across all terrain, becoming the first blind person to race to the South Pole.
In 2010, a fall from a second story window nearly killed him. Mark broke his back and the damage to his spinal cord left him paralyzed. He’s been the subject of the acclaimed documentaries, “Blind Man Walking” and “Unbreakable – The Mark Pollock Story,” while authoring his own story, “Making It Happen.”

Egyptian-American scientist, entrepreneur, investor and an AI thought leader. Dr. Rana el Kaliouby is an on a mission to humanize technology before it dehumanizes us.
She is the Deputy CEO at Smart Eye and formerly, Co-Founder and CEO of Affectiva, an MIT spin-out. Rana is also General Partner at AI Operators Fund, an early-stage AI-focused venture fund, as well as an executive fellow at the Harvard Business School where she teaches about AI and startups.
Rana’s track record includes translating technology innovations into products that address massive market needs including in automotive, health and robotics.
